TransSolutions Awarded AAAE Corporate Cup of Excellence

AAAE Chair Jim Elwood with TransSolutions’ Managing Principals Gloria Bender and Belinda Hargrove.

Fort Worth, TX, July 10, 2009At the recent 81st Annual American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Conference and Exposition held in Philadelphia, PA, TransSolutions was awarded the AAAE Corporate Cup of Excellence. Since 1986, the award has been presented each year to a corporate member vendor identified as a company that stands out with products or services, while providing outstanding customer service within the industry, and is also a good supporter of AAAE. Airport members provide nominations and AAAE board members vote on the winner. Previous award winners include Bechtel, AT&T, and URS Corporation.

The award was presented by AAAE Chair, Jim Elwood, and was accepted by Gloria Bender and Belinda Hargrove, the company’s Managing Principals and co-owners. In accepting the award, Belinda Hargrove thanked AAAE “for recognizing a small business with this honor.”  Gloria Bender added “We are very fortunate to be able to do work we enjoy, with a great team of employees, for wonderful clients.”

TransSolutions has been an AAAE corporate member for over 10 years, has supported the association’s professional conferences, serving as speakers, session moderators and conference chairs.  Recently, TransSolutions helped AAAE establish local community service events held in conjunction with the annual conference.  Last year, in New Orleans, TransSolutions co-sponsored an event that attracted 80 AAAE volunteers to help with the construction of several Habitat for Humanity homes.  This year, in Philadelphia, TransSolutions co-sponsored the volunteer event where 40 AAAE volunteers helped Philabundance, the local food bank, pack 4,400 pounds of pasta and sort 10,000 donated items for distribution. Hargrove commented, “Even though TransSolutions is only 25 people, we’ve been able to support AAAE’s community service events, and we encourage even more people to join us in this effort next year.”

This year’s AAAE’s conference included more than 1,850 delegates attending to hear a wide range of presentations designed to offer solutions and suggestions to combat problems created for the nation’s airports by the economic recession. More than 170 companies participated in the exposition.  The next annual conference will be held in Dallas May 15-19, 2010.
