TransSolutions offers training in SIMMOD to current and prospective users of the software. The public class consists of lectures covering the basic fundamentals of SIMMOD and hands-on computer lab sessions. SIMMOD training for both beginners and advanced users is offered. The basic course covers the steps involved in building an accurate SIMMOD airport model. Specific topics include database development, data input and modeling techniques, simulation logic, creation of output reports, animation, and conducting successful SIMMOD projects. The advanced course explores SIMMOD's capabilities
of modeling complex airfield and airspace issues. Developed by TransSolutions under
contract to the FAA, the course materials include such topics as balancing runway arrival
flow, gate blocking, power back/push back modeling, multiple departure queues for one
runway, and holding aircraft in staging areas.
You can register by filling in the form or e-mailing to Belinda Hargrove. SIMMOD course attendees, to date, have represented the following organizations:
TransSolutions has also created a one-day SIMMOD Executive Overview, aimed at decision makers and program managers for understanding overall capabilities of SIMMOD. TransSolutions conducts these seminars in several U.S. cities throughout the year. Attendees at the overview acquire knowledge of when a SIMMOD study is appropriate, the type of output available from SIMMOD simulation, and the applicability of SIMMOD analyses to address specific issues.
