Flughafen Frankfurt Main AG awards TransSolutions FOR RELEASE: Thursday, July 1, 1999 FORT WORTH, Texas -- TransSolutions, LLC was selected by Flughafen Frankfurt Main AG to develop the Total Frankfurt Airport Simulator (TOFAS). The first component of TOFAS will be the Passenger Terminal Simulation Module. This module will allow Frankfurt to evaluate their Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 performance under alternative demand, operational policy, and design modification scenarios. Subsequent development of TOFAS includes the Landside Access Roadways/Curbside, Mail & Freight, Baggage, Apron, and Taxiway & Runway modules. TOFAS will be a state-of-the-art, airport-wide decision support system used to evaluate the impact of proposed changes to airport operations. It also allows for individual components within the airport (e.g., check-in counters) to be evaluated in detail. The TOFAS tool embraces a philosophy that is:
